Sam Falletta Named Incept Corporation President
Incept Corporation is known for supporting ongoing professional development, recognizing top quality job performance and promoting team members to increasingly responsible positions.
Sam Falletta built a successful career with Incept over eight years which led to him being named President of the company.
"I feel like my progression has been an example of how taking a chance can pay off," Falletta said after the promotion was announced.
Incept Chief Executive Officer Jeff White noted that Falletta has, "...shown an amazing ability to not only adapt, but also excel in any role that I have asked him to fill."
Sam Falletta graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron. He moved on to The University of Akron. "I loved the education," Sam says of earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Marketing. He adds that he quickly realized how prevalent the opportunity to learn was by starting with a small business.
Falletta worked at a top telemarketing firm during college. After graduation, he was offered a position in pharmaceutical sales. He turned down that offer to pursue a position with Incept Corporation. Why? "I believed in the vision and ethics of Incept's CEO Jeff White," explains Sam, "and was excited to have the opportunity to grow with a small business."
"When I first joined the company we were very small [6 employees] and it interested me because of the potential of growh," Falletta continues. "After six months with the company, we had an opportunity to grow significantly and went from 9 employees to over 100 in less than 30 days."
During his eight-years with Incept, Sam Falletta held Call Center Supervisor, Account Executive, Call Center Manager, Director of Client Services and Vice President positions. From June, 2003 to June, 2005 his title was Chief Operating Officer.
Of his career at Incept, Falletta says, "I learned very quickly that the most valuable employees are those that solve problems. Every challenge has an answer to overcome it. Once you identify this, you can spend the majority of your time making progress on issues instead of worrying about them. I also believe that it is critical to be confident in your own decision making ability. Too often I see people that are timid to make a decision and instead cause ideas or plans to stall. Often the wrong decision made quickly is much more effective than the best decision being made after taking too long to analyze it."
In October, 2004 Falletta was appointed to head up new business development. At the time, he pointed out, "I have always enjoyed taking on new tasks and this is definitely something new." Continuing, he added, "I feel like sales has a very direct way of affecting how the company does."
Of that experience, he now reflects," I think it helped really enforce to me that our business is all about creating a superior service. Client satisfaction is the driving force in our industry. Sitting with so many of our clients engrained that even more each day."
What brings success in sales? "I think sales comes down to having skill and will," according to Sam Falletta. He explains, "It is a very self-managed discipline; so it is critical to set your own goals and to be your own harshest critic. In addition, people need to be spoken to the way you would like to be spoken to; very direct, honest and without making promises that you can not keep."
Receiving news of the promotion, how did Incept's new president feel? "This role is very similar to many moves I had made in the past, with a little extra incentive," Falletta explains. "I love the chance to focus on our current clients and developing plans to constantly increase the satisfaction of our employees."
Asked to explain his management style, Sam says, "I believe strongly that I would rather have someone ask for forgiveness than ask for permission. People are given responsibilities and the authority to make decisions. It is critical to allow them to do that consistently. It gives people more personal freedom, confidence and allows them to learn much faster than if they were taught every step of the way."
Maintaining his CEO position, White says of Falletta, "he combines a passion for learning with a burning desire to succeed. Moreover, Sam puts in the work necessary to transform his passion and desire into tangible results."
Of the team he will be leading, Sam Falletta reflects, "I am confident Incept has some of the most satisfied employees and clients of any direct marketing company in the industry.
The attitude of people around here dictates the entire mood of the organization," he continues. "Hard work is a critical component of who we are and is shown by our team every day."
Discussing the future of Incept, Falletta points out, "We are going to continue to focus on providing world class service to our call center customers and spend increased energy developing the additional direct marketing channels that have not been a primary focus in the past."
It will be company founder Jeff White who will take the lead in building those new marketing channels. White says he will be, "focusing my efforts on strategic planning and implementation of an initiative to integrate print and web based marketing into our product mix.
Our goal is to add these solutions to our primary service offering [phone calls] to better suit the needs of our customers and ensure continued growth and stability as we move forward."
Our main goal," Falletta emphasizes, "is to line up quality people, with experience in the disciplines we are focusing on and creating partnerships with organizations that deliver the same quality to our customers that Incept does. We work in a people industry and continuing to surround ourselves with industry leaders will be the only effective path to continued success."
Incept's president notes, "Our industry is facing some incredible challenges right now. Legislation in the teleservices industry is tougher than ever and we are facing very strong overseas competition. The companies that embrace those changes and react the quickest to them are the ones that will be the most successful."
CEO Jeff White will continue to play a key role in the success of the company he founded. "In many ways our relationship will continue to be very collaborative," explains Sam Falletta. "Jeff has always been open to new ideas and willing to accept someone else's point of view when they had a well thought out plan. I think this will only become stronger as I continue to focus on many of the strategic objectives of growing our organization profitably."
Falletta reflects that, "We have had such a successful track record, that when potential clients review our website, or hear about some of our experience, it makes them immediately understand when we claim we are the best in the industry at what we do."
How will the Canton, Ohio based company maintain ongoing success in teleservices while increasing its presence as a leader in multichannel marketing? "There are definitely areas that are closely watched to determine future superstars within the organization. Mainly attitude and effort," Incept president Sam Falletta notes.
"Since I started holding management positions the individuals that have had an inner drive to succeed are the ones that have been most successful," Falletta says. He concludes, "This trait can not be taught, coached or cultivated. Find people that want to succeed, provide very clear end goals and allow people to achieve them."
