August, 2005 - Incept Assists In Battle Against America’s Number 3 Killer – Stroke
Over seven years Incept Corporation has partnered with the American Heart Association setting HeartWalk appointments. The relationship led to Incept working to support The American Stroke Association.
"Train To End Stroke" provides more of a marketing challenge than a traditional walk. Incept Client Services Director Billie Johnson explains, “Participants go through extensive physical training and are taught fundraising techniques." Ultimately, this allows "Train To End Stroke" participants to gain better overall physical fitness while also raising money to help fight America’s number three killer – stroke.
Experience recruiting for The American Heart Association HeartWalk aids in work on behalf of "Train To End Stroke". Johnson points out, "Many of these reps (recruiting for "Train to End Stroke") are actively involved in the HeartWalk and organizing local awareness events, as well as helping in the overall organization of national marathons, so their time is priceless."
She explains the huge benefit of having the American Heart Association field reps focus on contacting previous participants and getting them re-signed to participate. "By delivering a schedule filled with interested businesses, rather than trying to make cold calls to businesses, and schedule appointments for themselves is also another advantage to using Incept," Johnson was quoted as saying.
"Getting companies and/or individuals to agree to participate in the program is not easy, so the goal for telemarketing was to get the word out and continue nurturing this fabulous program to raise awareness as well as funds," concluded Incept's Director of Client Services.
